Whilst on holiday visiting family in the beautiful city of Cape Town, I ended up visiting the fabric shops. Perhaps a strange thing to do when on holiday, but when I found out where the fabric district was- I couldn’t resist! (And luckily I had a lot of luggage allowance left!)
I ended up buying a few different fabrics but the above are my favourites. The sunglass print has caused some divide with my family and friends- perhaps a bit too wacky? But I love the idea of it as a summery maxi skirt. The only problem is that it’s jersey and I’ve never sewn with a stretch material before…lets just hope it’s doesn’t go the same way as my “a little bit of frill and a little bit of failure” skirt!
I haven’t quite figured out what to do with the others…but hey you can never have enough fabrics tucked away for a rainy day!
Let me know if you have any ideas for the fabrics or any tips for how to sew with jersey!
love,
little pomegranate
