I know I say it every year, but this time, I mean it: This year has flown by in a flash. It’s been so long since I’ve written a blog post (almost a year exactly!) and I wanted to pop back in and update you on all the big (and small) changes happening behind the scenes.
If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ll know I’m still very much around, just caught up in the whirlwind of life. From tackling a major house renovation to welcoming our second daughter via IVF, the past couple of years have been filled with some of our most stressful moments but also some beautiful new beginnings.
From Anonymous Crochet Blog to Lifestyle and Craft
If you’ve been here since the beginning, you might remember The Little Pomegranate started as an anonymous crochet blog. Since then, it’s evolved through multiple chapters- wedding DIYs, sewing tutorials, general crafting projects, and more.
But like many of you, my life has shifted. With two little ones at my feet and a medical career to juggle, time is more precious than ever, but I also know I need to maintain my hobbies and passions.
What’s Next for The Little Pomegranate?
I’ve wrestled with whether to shut the blog down completely. But the truth is, this space still means a lot to me, and despite me not posting here- you still come to visit. I know so many people read the blog and come back to my resources, especially my free sewing pattern and I don’t want to take that away from people. And it’s not just that, I regularly hear from readers from across the world touched by my infertility post with Amaliah (from the first time we faced it) and knowing these stories have helped others reminds me why I started blogging and writing in the first place.
But I’ll be honest it is now costing me money to keep it running and it seems like the kind of thing that I either need to scale back and simplify or really embrace and go for it. So I’m giving myself a challenge…
Embracing the Blog—Unfiltered, Unrestricted
There’s also the shift we’ve seen in social media over the last few years. Have you felt it too? I miss the freedom to be able to talk and express myself in the way that I want to, not being restricted by trending audios, algorithms, short captions or shadow banning. I miss being able to really write, reflect, and connect with others, and be authentically me. So, I’m coming back to this space, with fresh ideas and a little hope.
So expect to see gradual changes in how the blog looks as I tweak it behind the scenes, and what content you see. Don’t worry, there’ll still be sewing tutorials and craft projects! But also more of the everyday:
- Home renovation tips and lessons learned
- DIY jobs and decor ideas
- Honest reviews of products I love
- Personal reflections on motherhood, IVF, and everything in between
Continuing the IVF & Infertility Conversation
A note on this: I know it’s something that people come back to me about a lot, from in-real-life connections, to ones on social media. I regularly get people message me from across the world telling me how they found me because of my openness about infertility and IVF. And having gone through it, there’s just so much I would love to discuss and share with those who are going through the same. So I hope the people who need to see that content, do get to see those posts.
Join Me in This New Phase
So, should we call it a rebrand, a revamp, or maybe just the next chapter? Whatever it is, I’m excited and I hope you are too.
Thank you for sticking around. For those of you who’ve been with me since my crochet days, to those of you who are new- welcome. Let’s see where this goes together.
love,

Mostly I knit, and I can barely sew (only hem slacks and mend a bit), but I’ve been reading to learn since the wedding-DIY chapter. (RSS/Atom syndication is great.) Now seems like a good time to de-lurk and say that I admire your strong voice!
That’s so kind! Thank you for de-lurking 🙂 appreciate it
Hurray for bringing blogs back! I’ve been staying away from Instagram for the last month or so and although I don’t miss the platform, I do miss certain voices and yours is one of them! I hope this new direction works out for you and I’m looking forward to reading along.
Ahh thank you! Thats one of the reasons I want to get writing here again too. Think lots of us are trying to avoid the doom scroll
I still love blogs as much as I did 10, 15 years ago! I just need to get better at commenting. But I am looking forward to reading more on here 🙂 Like so many people, I love Instagram and my online crafty community but also want to spend less time on social media. Blogs are great for that.
My own blog is lying dormant while I think about a new name for it and whether to get my own domain after I’ve run out of storage space for photos.
Ahhh Thank you for joining/staying with me here! It’s so nice to have something in longer form to read and tbh I don’t really understand all the new substacks etc!
